Who is the apple?

AI is rapidly entering the daily lives of ordinary people. For children whose discernment abilities are still developing, on one hand, AI-generated contents are blurring their perception of ‘reality’. On the other hand, the development of efficient AI tools will inevitably lead to a shift in the future direction of education. Controlling and utilizing AI as an auxiliary means will become an unavoidable educational issue. In this context, as a designer, I aspire to intervene subtly in children's understanding of AI-generated images, enabling them to gain awareness of some processes related to AI through casual games. This approach aims to foster a more insightful coexistence with AI in the modern environment.
When the original intent of an image is altered in the process of AI manipulation, does it acquire a new identity? The art of generating images through artificial intelligence is a journey of ambiguity and reimagining existing realities. This process is influenced by database biases, often overlooking the inherent diversity of objects. In this interactive game, participants mimic an apple in front of a mosaic screen, and the AI's preference for shapes closer to its programmed perception of an apple determines the winner. However, does a red sphere resemble an apple more than a green oval? As we delve deeper into the logic behind artificial intelligence art, we begin to question biases and potential unrealities in AI recognition.
